A family tradition, thoughtfully carried forward.
A family-led gemstone boutique, based in Edmonton, Canada.
Celésti began as a new chapter — both personally and professionally.
Our family moved to Canada in 2021, and in September 2025, after receiving permanent residency, we chose Edmonton as our home. We were drawn to the city’s character — a place that offers opportunity without haste, creativity without noise, and a strong sense of community.
Edmonton is neither crowded nor remote. It carries the balance of urban life and grounded living, and that balance reflects Celésti’s philosophy: refined, intentional, and unhurried.
Selecting gemstones in Sri Lanka — guided by decades of experience.
Celésti’s roots are deeply connected to Sri Lanka, a country renowned for its natural gemstones and long gem-trading history.
I grew up in Colombo surrounded by gemstones and the quiet rhythm of the trade. My father has spent over 40 years in the gemstone industry, dedicating his life to sourcing, cutting, and refining natural stones. Over the years, his work has supported retailers, collectors, and private buyers across both local and international markets.
His approach has always been guided by patience, skill, and a deep understanding of value — not only in the stone itself, but in how it is represented and placed.
Every gemstone begins with careful selection.
From rough to refined — every stone handled individually.
From the first cut to the final polish, gemstones are handled individually and in small batches. Stones are ethically sourced and worked with care at every stage.
The first collection that launched Celésti was carefully selected and prepared in Sri Lanka by my father, drawing on decades of experience and marking the beginning of this new chapter in Canada. That same expertise continues to guide our collection today and beyond.
Traditional gem cutting — precision shaped by time and practice.
Gem cutting is not rushed work. It requires focus, restraint, and experience developed over many years.
Each gemstone offered by Celésti is hand-cut and polished through this expertise, with the intention of preserving the stone’s natural character rather than forcing perfection. The goal is balance, clarity, and honesty — never exaggeration.
I am Sithara, the founder of Celésti.
Before pursuing higher studies, I learned the fundamentals of gem cutting under my father’s guidance. That early exposure shaped how I see gemstones — not as commodities, but as natural creations deserving respect and thoughtful handling.
While Celésti is led from Canada, it is supported by family in every sense. My husband’s encouragement and my mother’s quiet support allow this work to grow with intention, while my father’s experience continues to guide every stone we offer.
Celésti is intentionally small and family-led.
Rather than volume, we focus on curation, transparency, and trust. Each gemstone is individually documented and presented without pressure or exaggeration. We believe true beauty speaks quietly — and lasts.
Today, Celésti carries this legacy forward — connecting Sri Lanka’s finest gemstones with discerning collectors in Canada and beyond.
